adoption assistance Program

We're proud to support employees expanding their families through adoption.  The Adoption Assistance Program is designed to ease the financial burden of adoption by offering reimbursement for eligible expenses.  

what's included?
eligibility

All active, full-time regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are eligible.  An Eligible Child for adoption is any child who:

  1. Has not attained the age of eighteen (18) before the adoption is finalized or is physically or mentally incapable of self-care even if over the age of eighteen (18)
  2. Is not the child of the employee's spouse or domestic partner.  Adoption of a stepchild or relative is not an Eligible Child for purposes of the Adoption Program

The Adoption Program offers a one-time reimbursement to employees of up to $10,000 (lifetime maximum) for Eligible Adoption Expenses.  Eligible Adoption Expenses incurred can be submitted for reimbursement after you have been approved to participate in the Adoption Program and after the adoption of the Eligible Child is final.

  • EAP Counseling:  Emotional support throughout the adoption process is available through ComPsych
  • Legal Assistance:  Access to legal guidance is also available through ComPsych
  • Adoption/Foster Care Leave:  Eligible employees may take up to four weeks of company-paid time off to bond with the adopted child

 

Fertility support

Everyone's path to parenthood is different.  Whether you're exploring treatment options, planning ahead, or navigating complex decisions, we offer benefits that support you - emotionally, medically, and financially.

Your Anthem medical plan includes fertility services and treatments that can help offset the cost of building your family.

What's Included?
  • Receive up to a $15,000 lifetime maximum
  • Coverage for fertility assessments and diagnostics to find the cause of infertility
  • Services to treat the underlying medical conditions that cause infertility
  • Covered services also include in-vitro fertilization, GIFT (gamete intrafallopian transfer), or ZIFT (zygote intra-fallopian transfer)
  • Prescription drugs used to treat infertility
  • Access to fertility specialists within Anthem's network
